Raising £50 Million

A Big Ask

Chance to shine is the single biggest sports development programme ever undertaken in this country.  The delivery of Chance to shine projects to one third of schools in England and Wales over ten years will require £50 million.

To use the language of today, this is a ‘big ask’, especially since so many charities with important causes compete for charitable support in a crowded market-place.  But Chance to shine is a big project…..

To date over £12 million has been committed towards our target of £25 million to be raised from the private sector.  Our plans to generate this money is based upon winning help from Patrons and other individuals, from Commercial Partners through sponsorship, through members of the Corporate Supporters Club, through Grant Making Trusts and through other activities.

We are delighted that the Government is matching each pound we raise through the National Sports Foundation.  This arrangement for doubling donations provides great value both to private supporters and to Government.

We are also immensely grateful to all our supporters - to our Patrons and to many other individuals who have donated with extraordinary generosity, to those from the business community who are members of our Corporate Supporters Club, to the many Grant Making Trusts who have chosen to support and to every other individual who has helped us in ways both great and small.

We are particularly grateful also to Allianz and to Slazenger, our two major Commercial Partners, for lending their considerable weight to our campaign.

If you believe – as we do - that cricket can play a vital role in the development of young people, please help us ensure that Chance to shine will be delivered as planned.
